Apparently autumn has not decided to fully settle down in Auckland. Instead of letting all of the good days pass by, we’ve decided to make use of it and have a great weekend!
Your cultural officers.
What is the best way to express the love for Malaysian culture? *drum rolls* Through everybody’s favourite Malaysian food of course! We’re all on the same boat where we miss our favourite home delicacies. Therefore, we brought your home favourites to you! Good food and good people; what’s not to love?
The event started off with an ice-breaking session. Everyone was given a blindfold and this means that it is a total pitch black for everyone.
But first, let me take a selfie!
The Beard got his style on 24/7.
Everyone was mixed around and getting paired up with a random stranger. The aim of the game is that each pair would have to exchange food nicknames, real names were advised to be not exchanged. Everyone will have to talk about themselves (their interest, what are they studying, favourite movie etc).
After that, everyone is re-shuffled randomly again around the room and blindfolds can be opened. Each person had to look for their previously assigned partner once again with only the information they received before.
I FOUND YOU!
Surprisingly, majority of the people managed to find their partners within less than a minute! Impressive work, you guys!
And now, the time that we had all been waiting for – it’s time to eat!
We had vegetarian fried rice, curry chicken and curry puffs set on the table for our lunch. Shout out to Uncle Man for preparing the food for us!
The bromance between Jonathan & Luke are goals.

Later on, the adventure resumes at Devonport. The weather was excellent as the sun was shinning accompanied by the clear blue skies.
And for a typical Malaysian, food is essential at all times – this means dessert!
Allen & Yash – New Zealand highly wanted milking experts!
“Life is beautiful.”
“Hold on tight to this dear life.”
Even gravity can’t pull ice-cream down.
We headed to Mount Victoria and had a climb. Everyone was pumped and headed up altogether. And the top of the mountain, was, amazing!
We’re halfway there!
“Run and don’t look back at the past.”
Ellen Degeneres group selfie – on point!
WE’RE ON TOP OF THE WORLD!
A perfect double rainbow to end our day!
Lastly, to sum up our great adventure, we headed to Pappa Rich for dinner. And believe us, the food was amazing! The company was warm and the food was delicious.
Thus, ends our great “Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan 1.0” adventure!
‘Till the next time, brothers and sisters! The next adventure awaits us!
