Bersatu Games 2016 – Day 5 (Final Day)

Hello!
Apa Khabar?

“DON’T MESS WITH THE BEST ‘CAUSE THE BEST DON’T MESS;
   DON’T FOOL WITH THE COOL ‘CAUSE THE COOL DON’T FOOL!”

Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve finally arrived on the last day of the Bersatu Games 2016! The Bersatu journey was a long run but yet it was equally as exciting and fun for all. At this point, many players were already exhausted both physically and mentally. There were also many players who got injured – but we still stand up high because that is how great we are!

During the last day, all the players took up every single last bit of their energy and gave it all. Everyone showed their confidence and did their very best. The sporting events that were on the final day were netball and male frisbee.

“Ohana means family!”

The netball team was filled with full potential and energy. The girls worked hard together and performed a fantastic job at the court!

Meanwhile, the male frisbee team at the other side of the court were getting ready for their game. The boys were giving support and motivating one and another as a team.

UMSA’s male frisbee team.

After the match, the other UMSA members decided to unwind their minds and have a mini frisbee match together. This was the point when the most of us (mostly non-frisbee players) realised that frisbee is not easy at all. It is in fact very tiring due to the ample amount of running and jumping!

The evening was filled with food, performance, award-giving ceremony and good company. The atmosphere of the room was cozy and warm. We were served with a dinner buffet line. Moreover, we were entertained by many great performances which involved a group acapella, a singing and a guitar duet and many more!

During the award-giving ceremony, the room was epic! Each contingent started cheering with all their might in a medium-sized ballroom. The cheers were very energetic and loud – the evening was definitely alive!

A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS –

TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF 2016’s UMSA BERSATU GAMES SPORTSMEN AND SPORTSWOMEN!

It has been a long roller coaster ride for every single UMSA players of the Bersatu Games. After the long hours of training, time that was sacrificed for the games, and many hardships that was gone through – it was all paid off. As everyone got a chance to be stronger as a powerful team. We are not just a regular sports team – we are a family. Where bonds get bolder and the warmth and love are surrounded. A trophy is just a trophy; although we may not be able to have it in our hands, but there are way more important things than a trophy – which is unity. And most importantly, OUR unity.

Most importantly, a special thank you to both of our sports officers, Allen Wong and Sean Mak! Without these two great gentlemen, we would not be standing where we are tonight. Thank you for all of your hard work, effort and endless support. Thank you for being the backbone throughout this entire journey!

This marks our amazing adventure together. May this experience be never forgotten and let’s continue to stand up strong as a whole, as a family.
